<p>Every once in awhile in the last few weeks, Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel has stopped and stuck his head into the defensive meeting room in the team's facility to check on his defensive coaches.</p>
<p>Crennel should be in those meetings, because he's decided he's going to remain the defensive coordinator and game-day decision maker for the Chiefs' defense in the 2012 season. But the duties of also being head coach have dominated his time.</p>
<p>"I've met some with the defensive coaches, and that was one of the things about my defensive staff that I felt good about and why I wanted to keep them intact," said Crennel, who brought back all of the 2011 defensive staff that Todd Haley had assembled.
