Ok, so I'm now convinced that the Chiefs offensive coordinator needs to be FIRED. The play calling in the Miami game was dumb. Am I the only one who sees this? Why would they open up the game with LJ running the ball through 5 possessions gaining no more than 2 or 3 yards while running in the same lane while Miami was shutting down the running game period? I don't get it, my 6-year-old nephew can call better plays on offense on Madden 06. I'm going to hate myself for saying this but The Chiefs suck this year and the season is over. They're not consistent with the play calling on offense and there is too much of an mind-set on Larry Johnson running the ball. Unless the Chiefs offensive coordinator get out of that mind frame, the Chiefs may not see post season action but until then, forget about it. This is the Chiefs team, not the freaking' Larry Johnson show which brings up my next issue...
I'm not saying all of this because they lost, hell I've been bitching about the play calling and the team focusing its self around Larry Johnson at the start of the season. There are other players on the team who deserves the same amount of play as LJ. I mean c'mon 39 carries for 155 yards...Too much of a mind-set around LJ and none around the team unless LJ is not playing up to par. I mean anytime your RB gets more yards than you QB, then that’s a problem (Rams Vs. Chiefs). Then you expect for your team to win? Get the hell out of here with that. Teams aren't dumb, they know that the Chiefs are going to run with LJ and considering where he runs it’s a damn good giveaway. The offensive coordinator needs to open up the offense and look beyond Johnson. There was some play calling in the Miami game that stung me. I mean they ran with LJ on 5 possessions, got nothing and punted. But oh, here's the kicker, they ran on 3 and 9 but threw on 3 and 2...lol...weird...very stupid play calling.
My season thoughts; this season is over, look for reconstruction of the offensive line and maybe the outing of Mike Salari. I'm not venting because of the loss, I'm venting because of the play calling and the Chiefs thinking this is the Larry Johnson show. The play calling was better with Saunders, and if Priest Holmes got most of the yards, he was thanking his TEAM not complaining about leaving 200 yards on the field. The Chiefs offense is dead. Not because of the absence of Willie, it’s because of the Chiefs Management. They knew Willie would retire so why not mold someone to take his place? The Vermeil Chiefs were a great offensive team that used all units to win. There was no change needed in that department but Herm felt it needed change which was a very bad mistake in regards to the Chiefs to pounding the football and setting the mind set on LJ doing so. Thanks to the Chiefs Management this season is gone...Having no O line, they may need to work out the shotgun for the rest of the season. At least that'll give the QB a little time before he's sacked |

| I'll agree with you on the playcalling, but yes LJ is the focus of this Offense, when he goes the team wins,do you think with the recievers we have were a throwing team,no way,the biggest problem on this team is the inconsistent line play, injuries, suspensions, and yes Big Willie,we knew he was going to retire, but a week before traning camp,he left us hanging.Don't be a bandwagon fan were still in it we have a great shot at a wild card 10-6 should do it,there is still hope. |

| I'm a 18 year deep fan. No way a bangwagon fan. Been a fan since 8. The O line is weak and thats because of Willie. He didn't leave us hanging, the Chiefs personel did. They knew Willie would retire soon so they should have had someone to replace him or train and practice under Willie. We lost that benefit because they didn't have a second guy to work under Willie at all times so that he could learn from em', but they didn't. 10-6 won't cut it in the AFC. 11-5 is a wild card. Maybe in the NFC but not the AFC |

| They knew he would leave but not so soon,he was supposed to play this season,we did have some young guys,Black,Sampson,Williams but they didn't pan out, Left Tackles are hard to find plus the Chiefs had to improve thier Defense that's were most of the focus was.Now if you think that Jax. N.Y.Jets,Cinn.or even the Chiefs will finish 11-5 I disagree,Denver or S.D. will be a wild card and it's anybodys guess who will be the other WC,look at the standings. |
