The Chiefs have reached an agreement in principle to re-sign Tony Gonzalez to five-year contract, with a reported $16 million in bonuses.

The guaranteed money would be the highest ever for a tight end, but the significant rise of the salary cap the last two years will create numerous megadeals. Gonzo reversed his decline this season, but this contract may not look good in two years. In the end, Kansas City couldn't risk losing a prime offensive talent on a team lacking firepower. He's one of the best player on this team,he will still have a few more great years,I'm glad to see him stay.
