| The Kansas City Chiefs signed free-agent defensive lineman Shane Burton to a one-year contract Monday, reuniting him with former coach Herm Edwards in his bid for an NFL comeback.
Burton, a 6-foot-1, 310-pound tackle, has spent nine seasons in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
He sat out the last two years with knee problems.
In his career, Burton has started 49 games with 294 tackles and 18 sacks. He also has played in three postseason games, including a Jets loss to the Oakland Raiders in 2001 when Edwards was the coach. |
